Millions of people watched what was supposed to be a funeral become the spark to ignite a national revival. For 5 hours government leaders from President Trump to Secretary Pete Hegseth to Charlie Kirk’s widow Erika Kirk proclaimed Christ as their Savior. Don Trump Jr., compared the stoning of Steven when Christ stood up to welcome him to heaven, to Charlie as a martyr for Christ. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said Charlie was a spiritual warrior. VP JD Vance said it’s better to die for Christ, than live with no purpose or faith. Erika Kirk said Charlie wanted to save young men just like the one who killed Charlie.

Charlie Kirk’s Memorial Service was amazing. Millions of people heard the gospel around the world. Frank Turek was just a few feet from Charlie when the assassin’s bullet pierced Charlie’s neck. Tucker Carlson compared Christ’s crucifixion to silence Him to Charlie Kirk being silenced by an assassin. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said God created us for fellowship, but sin caused death. Christ is essential to overcome sin, evil and death. Pastor Rob McCoy said all things were created by and for Christ. Erika Kirk, Charlie’s widow, forgave her husband’s murderer as Christ forgave those who nailed him to the cross.

Revival is God’s remedy for a morally and spiritually sick nation. Revivals have transformed the lives of people and nations. The First Great Awakening led to America’s independence from Britain. Daniel Norris, the author of Trail of Fire – True Stories From Ten of the Most Powerful Moves of God, vividly describes how Jonathan Edward’s sermon, “Sinners in the Hands of An Angry God” began a nationwide revival that changed our destiny. The 2nd Great Awakening with Charles Finney led to a great revival that spread worldwide. Great revivals have resulted in entire cities shutting down for prayer meetings.

No matter how degenerate Sodom was, they tried to rape two angels; Pastor Carter Conlon quoted Jesus who said, “If the miracles done in Capernaum had been done in Sodom, Sodom would have remained until this day.” Pastor Tim Dilena said, “Lot offered his two daughters to sodomites and Lot had incestuous relations with his daughters. But God rescued Lot and called him righteous. So God can save anyone.” We may think our culture is too far gone to be saved. But it’s not beyond God’s grace and mercy. People who think they’re good enough for heaven, aren’t. Salvation is a gift not earned through works.
